I’m not going to sit here and deny that certain tools help make things a little bit easier, but giving all of the credit to the tablet pen or the paintbrush, and giving no credit to the artist behind the table is seriously ridiculous.
I don’t draw the way I do because I have a tablet, I draw the way I do because I spend most of my time studying real life, and reading as many new tutorials as I can possibly find so that I can improve.
I hear people all the time, not just to me of course, saying “Well you’re only good because you have a tablet” or “Your art is only pretty because of those copics you used!” and I just want to punch them in the face.
If your art is terrible it’s because of you, not the materials you used.
Stop bitching about not having expensive materials and learn to use the ones you do have.
